Books I read these few months

I like reading book, and i read few books recently. I think those are pretty good.

(1) The Minds of Billy Milligan(24個比利)

I read the Chinese version. it's a true story about the guy called Billy, who had 24 different personalities, those personalities not even have differnet characterises but age, nationalities, gender. He did many bad things, raped women, robbed the bank, sold drugs....etc, but he didnt know he didnt all those things. After the long jugement, he released from the jail, because he was diagnosed with multiple personality disorder. It's a quite attractive book, but it made me confused also, too many people mentioned in this book.

(2)The stolen Child (失竊的孩子)

I read the Chinese version also. It's about the fairy stole the little boy-Henry's life when he was seven then the fairy became Henry and started the "human" life and Henry became the fairy and lives in the forrest. We called this changeling. When the fake Henry grew up, he became a famous musician, he has beautiful wife, child, family, everything but... he met the real Henry few times.... and at the end he felt guilty, because he stole Henry's life...I like this book so much. Very interesting, attractive. It's talked about piano, music. That's why i like it more.

(3) Shopaholic and Baby

It's the book wrote by Sophie Kinsella, who is the New York Times Bestseller. This is the first book i read by her. It's a thick English book, but the writer use the relaxing and interesting style to write this book. I bought her other book" Can you keep a secret?" as well. I think her book is not difficult to understand. And it's funny. Girls can try to read this book.

(4) Tuesday with Morrie

It's a famous book by Mitch Albom, many people mentioned it, and even some of the books said that it's one of the books you must read before you die. It's about philosophy of life. How to make your life more meaningful in different field, Money, Family, Love, Emotion, etc.

There are many Golden quote in this book.

" If we learn how to die, then we know how to live our life much more better."

" Each night, When i go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when i wake up, I am reborn."

Talk about family, " It's not the same as having someone whom you know has an eye one you, is watching you the whole time. This is part of what a family is about, not just love, but letting others know there's someone who is watching out for them."

Blog

I don’t know how many people read my blog. I am happy that one of my school friends( Ming) told me that she read my blog, and sometimes my friend left me comment here also. I am not sure that is it everyone can leave me message here, but you guys can try that. I changed my online dairy many times, I think at least 4 or 5 times. I used Xanga before, you can still check it( www.xanga.com/shunyan0605), but I didn’t update it for a long long time. Too many strangers use the blank account to view my Xanga, so I don’t like it. Anyway I like here most also, clear and easy to use.

Some of my friends told me that they don’t like reading my blog, because I write it in English. But come on, if you are my friend, it's no matter i write it in English or Chinese, you can still check it, right? At that time, I explained that I write this in English, because I want to improve my English. Of course is one of the purpose for me to write it in English. But now, honestly, I write that in English, half reason is because of my boyfriend. I share everything with him, but sometime, some slice things, I can’t tell him immediately, maybe he is at work, and then I will write it and drop it down here. I know he checks here always.

Love to share my lifestyle and my daily life with all of my friends.

Hardship- Teaching

These few months are the music exam season. Most of the students and teachers are busy at preparing those exam stuffs. I am busy at that also. This year I have three students attend the exam. Two Grade 3, and one Grade2. I deeply believe that teacher is more worry about the exam than the students.

Today I had lesson with a girl who will attend the grade 2 piano exam next month. And she has only three lessons left before the exam. I gave her a test in the lesson. And she didn’t play the songs well, and almost fail. I talked to her, and she still wasn’t serious. I used many methods to help her, encouraged her, but all were useless. She still didn’t improve herself. Who can help her? I told her many times, if she gets fail in any one of the three songs, she will get fail overall easily. I am so sad. It’s stressful for me… I hope every of my students can get pass at least in the exams.

Wonderful time- with Jimmy

We went to waterpark in Guangzhou during his annual leave. Everything was wonderful there because we were together. The weather suddenly turned bad on that day afternoon, heavy raining, thunder and windy. Everyone stopped playing and swimming, waited under the sunshade,very crowded there. The rain hit my body, i was cold and got headache. I am glad that he's with me, he kept me warm, althought both of us were wet in swimming suits. The rain seemed never stop.. and i wasnt feeling well, and i needed dry towel. So, we just ran in the rain. He held my hand, and we ran and we were fazed, i dont know how long we ran in rain.... very very cold.

But my heart is warm.......

Love lesson 2

We have been together 5 months. Many people think that western is more romantic and funny guy. Well, he is, sometimes. Anyway, he is smart, caring and understanding me. He makes me feel that I am really in love and comfortable with him. We have argument also. But we understand each other more after the argument.

One of my friends made a joke of him. She said, “Oh, Dorcas, you argued with you western boyfriend in English, that’s better than me, when I argued with my boyfriend I just feel upset and cry a lot. At least you learn some English in the argument.”

Oh c’mon! We were upset when we argue, I date with him, because I want to give my love to him, care him and grow up together. Not using him in any purpose. We are just same like the normal Chinese lovers. We take the love lesson everyday, we learn how to care and share, try to understand more. I hope we can be soul mates someday.

Why i love him? I can't tell you the reason honestly. Can you tell why you love your partner? Because he/she is pretty? smart? clever? If you can answer the question, you aren't really love her/him. If you see another man/ woman who are attractive like your girlfriend/ boyfriend, you will move on?

Appreance and characteristc are only the things attract you to notice he/ she. What brings you two together? Not only feeling.. But Love......

Big Day for China- Olympic 2008

Today, it's a big day for every Chinese. I PROUD of my COUNTRY!!!

We waited to hold the Olympic game for 100 years. Fianlly, we got the chance to hold the game. The opening cenemony's awesome. And there are 204 countries join the game, which is the biggest game in the world. Hope everything will be Okay and sucessful. GOOD LUCK FOR CHINA!!! ONE WORLD, ONE DREAM.

What's the first priority in your life now?

Today, I talked to one of my students on msn. He asked me to help him find a job. But he is 15 only. I don’t think there’s any job which is suitable for him. Most of the fast food shops, restaurants, supermarket, would like to employ the people who finish form 5, 16above and have experiences. He said he needs money, because his family is poor. ( well, his family is okay, not that poor) then finally he told me because he used the money his parents gave him to buy some old textbooks, which aren’t suitable for his new school year. So, he needs money to buy the books and he told me his goal, he doesn’t want to use his parents’ money, want to make money himself for pocket money, tutorial and piano fee, and save money for studying oversea. His thinking is good, but the most important thing is study hard. He will go up to form 4 this coming school year, which is a big gap for form 3 students , they have to prepare well for the public exam in next year, and the only thing they should do is, focusing on studying but not working. And if he works after school everyday, he won’t have time to do his homework and revision. I deeply believe that, if he needs money for studying and learning something, his parents MUST support him.

Anyway, I talked to him for awhile, he just didn’t listen to me, and even I told him that I saw too many people who can’t study well and no future now. And your family can afford you to study oversea is good, but if not, study in Hong Kong is really good enough. He thinks that what he thinks now is right, and I just hope that he won’t choose the wrong way.

Learning something new- Japanese

I am learning Japanese with Mandy recently. Before the course started, I always think that, Japanese isnt that difficult. But after few lesson, I can say that it's not easy, and getting more and more difficult. The text book i use is all Japanese, only have little bit Chinese explanation, those japanese words just like symbols for me. And the teacher is Japanese, his cantonese accent is so strange. Sometimes, i even cant understand him. I think that this language is much more difficult than English.

Anyway, i will try my best to learn it. Now, i always prepare before the lesson at home, hope can understand what the teacher says.

And now, i can totally understand that why Japanese cant say english in the right way. Because they will have their way to learn english. We called it Japanese English. I bet only Japanese can understand that.

Learning something new

I started learning flute this summer. Today i had the third lesson. I think i can play pretty good. The teacher also said that i played better than last week. It's not hard for me to read those notes, and theories. The hardest thing is how to blow it and play the sounds well. I talked to my mom that I want to buy a new flute, because the one i play, is rent from the music center, and i have return it after suumer holiday.

Hope that she will sponsor me. Because i lose quite many students after this summer, i hope i can get more students. otherwise i dont think i can support my music studying( flute and piano) and my daily life :(

Will have a piano performance in my teacher's concert on 31st of August, in TST Tom Lee, The song i am going to play is" Sonata in B Flat, 1st movement" by Mozat.
